Going to the Bingo Hall

Thursday, January 26th, 2012

Bingo is a relatively simple game played for both fun and gambling. Most people begin playing Bingo as young as grade school. Of course, in grade school it is about winning a prize, not betting. However, the same thrill applies when one gets close to filling in a row.

In gratis Bingo, players can choose to play one or several cards. One’s odds are quite simply the number of cards played compared to the total of cards in play. If one plays five cards at a time and the number of cards in play is 100, he or she would have a five percent chance of winning. However, to achieve these odds, one cannot miss a number or break a rule.

The rules to Bingo are quite simple. Every card has BINGO written across the top. Under the letters are five spaces for numbers. No card includes the same number under a letter. Each letter has 15 possible numbers. For instance, the numbers under B can only be 1-15.

Every bingo game has an assigned caller. Most bingo halls have 75 balls in a machine similar to Powerball lotteries. Each ball has a letter accompanied by a number, such as B-14. If one’s card has that number, they mark it out. The point of the game is to have an entire line of marked out numbers, or five in a row. The five numbers can be diagonal, horizontal, or vertical.

However, many versions of the game exist. Sometimes, the player must mark every number on the card to win. Other versions include four corners, X, four squares, and checkerboard. Bingo’s excitement is hard to put into words, but having one or two cards nearly completed is very exciting.
